  • Day 2: Kathmandu Sightseeing and Trek Preparation

    We set off for a beautiful day exploring Kathmandu valley, observing historical, cultural, and monumental wonders.

    1. Swayambhunath, also known as the Monkey Temple, is a sacred Buddhist stupa perched atop a hill in Kathmandu. It offers panoramic views of the city and features a striking white dome, golden spire, and the iconic all-seeing eyes of Buddha. The site is a blend of Buddhist and Hindu symbolism and is one of the oldest religious sites in Nepal.
    2. Patan Durbar Square, located in the heart of Lalitpur, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site known for its rich Newar architecture and artistry. The square features ancient palaces, temples, and courtyards, including the stunning Krishna Mandir and the Hiranya Varna Mahavihar (Golden Temple). It was once the royal palace complex of the Malla kings of Lalitpur. The area is a vibrant blend of history, culture, and living tradition, with artisans still practicing age-old crafts.
    3. Pashupatinath Temple is one of the holiest Hindu temples dedicated to Lord Shiva, located on the banks of the Bagmati River in Kathmandu. Standing at 5,545 meters, Kala Patthar offers a front-row view of Mount Everest that feels almost within reach. After soaking in the views, the descent back to Pheriche retraces your steps through the rocky high-altitude terrain, offering a sense of accomplishment and reflection.

    You will now head back to Namche Bazaar tracing back your steps from Pangboche, and Tengboche. At old Pangboche, you can see the yeti’s skull and hand if you haven’t seen it before. Upon reaching Namche, we can buy souvenirs to take back home as a memory of this beautiful trip to EBC.

    You’ll stay in locally run teahouses/lodges which offer simple rooms, cozy dining areas, and hearty meals. In Kathmandu, you’ll stay in a comfortable hotel arranged by us.
  • Do you provide a porter and guide?

    Yes. Our packages include a licensed English-speaking guide and a porter who will carry up to 10-12 kg of your luggage.
  • Is travel insurance required?

    Yes, it is mandatory. Your insurance should cover emergency medical evacuation up to 6,000 meters. We’ll need your insurance details before the trek.
  • What should I pack for the trek?

    We’ll send you a detailed packing list, but essentials include: warm clothing, good trekking boots, a down jacket, sleeping bag, and a reusable water bottle. Glory Himalayan Trek & Tours also provides sleeping bags and down jackets on request.
  • Is Wi-Fi or mobile network available on the trail?

    Wi-Fi is available at some teahouses (usually at an extra charge), and Ncell/Nepal Telecom SIM cards work in many places, especially lower regions. Expect patchy connectivity in higher areas.
  • Can I charge my phone or camera during the trek?

    Yes, most teahouses offer charging facilities for a small fee. We recommend carrying a power bank as a backup.
  • How long is the Everest Base Camp trek?

    Our standard itinerary is 15 days, including acclimatization days and round-trip flights to Lukla. We can also customize the trek based on your time and preference.
  • Can I combine Everest Base Camp with other activities?

    Yes! Many of our guests also choose to add 3 passes, or a trekkers peak summit.
