Trekkers have been taking this unusual savory path since the 1950s, however, the route was long ago discovered in the 19th century by British Surveyors. This route takes you across three passes: Kongma La (5550 m), Chola Pass (5420 m), and Renjo La (5360 m). These three passes give you three ultimate adventures of its own with a well-defined route making it adventurous but safe for trekking lovers.
As you pass through the routes of this itinerary, you will obviously visit the world’s famous Everest base camp, but in addition, you will be routed through a journey that will give you a deeper dive into the diversity in people and topography, breathtaking scenarios from the different routes of Sagarmatha National Park, and a challenge you have yet to undertake.
The challenge includes making your way through Kong-ma La first giving you a taste of what the three passes will include. Then the route takes you to EBC and Kala Pathhar which gives you one-of-a-kind views that everyone desperately seeks to witness in their lifetime. After EBC, you will travel to Gokyo Valley with 13 lakes through the easiest pass of the tree, Renjo La.

The scenic flight to Lukla offers thrilling mountain views and lands on one of the world’s most dramatic airstrips, perched high in the Himalayas. From Lukla, the trek to Phakding is a gentle descent through pine forests and traditional Sherpa villages along the Dudh Koshi River.

The trek from Phakding to Namche Bazaar is a challenging yet rewarding journey that follows the Dudh Koshi River and crosses several suspension bridges, including the iconic Hillary Bridge. As you ascend through lush forests and pass small villages like Monjo and Jorsalle, the trail gradually climbs steeply toward Namche. The final ascent is tough but offers the first glimpses of Everest on clear days, making the arrival at the bustling Sherpa town of Namche Bazaar truly unforgettable.
The acclimatization day at Namche Bazaar allows trekkers to rest and adjust to the altitude while exploring the vibrant Sherpa town and its local markets. A short hike to the Everest View Hotel or nearby viewpoints offers stunning panoramas of Everest, Lhotse, and Ama Dablam, aiding gradual altitude adaptation.

The trek from Namche Bazaar to Tengboche offers breathtaking views of Everest, Ama Dablam, and other Himalayan peaks as the trail winds along ridges and through rhododendron forests. After a steady descent to the Dudh Koshi River at Phunki Tenga, a steep uphill climb leads to the serene hilltop monastery village of Tengboche. Arriving at Tengboche, trekkers are greeted by the spiritual atmosphere of the famous Tengboche Monastery surrounded by towering mountains.
