The scenic flight to Lukla offers thrilling mountain views and lands on one of the world’s most dramatic airstrips, perched high in the Himalayas. From Lukla, the trek to Phakding is a gentle descent through pine forests and traditional Sherpa villages along the Dudh Koshi River.
The trek from Phakding to Namche Bazaar is a challenging yet rewarding journey that follows the Dudh Koshi River and crosses several suspension bridges, including the iconic Hillary Bridge. As you ascend through lush forests and pass small villages like Monjo and Jorsalle, the trail gradually climbs steeply toward Namche. The final ascent is tough but offers the first glimpses of Everest on clear days, making the arrival at the bustling Sherpa town of Namche Bazaar truly unforgettable.
From Namche, walk leads to a beautiful footstep, then on downhill to Imjatse Stream to reach to Phunge-Tenga for lunch. We walk uphill into tall rhododendron, pines, fir backwoods with stupendous perspectives on snowcapped tops. Following not many long periods of picturesque ascension coming to Thyangboche Cloister, we are greeted with magnificent perspectives on Mt. Everest, Nuptse, Lhotse, Kangtenga, Tharmarserku, Kongde with lofty Mt. Ama Dablam. Thyangboche is encompassed with wonderful green woods and holds a significant cultural tradition "Mani-Rimdu" in the long stretch of October according to Buddhist Luna schedule.
